Newsletter November 2024

Hi, from Potchefstroom. Hope you had a very good month as you serve God wherever you are. Go with us on the journey we had to the Cape Province.... It felt like one of the Apostle Paul’s mission trips!

Road trip  - Driving far and wide

We had the SA YWAM meeting in Muizenberg (Cape Town) and we always try to make the trip to Cape Town worth it as it is very far just to drive for a conference and very expensive to just fly through for the two of us. So we decided to make a road trip out of it and to visit a few ministries and friends along the way. So here are a few stops we made:.

1)     A Ywam ministry we visited in Groblershoop - Slypsteen

Rehan was one of the staff in my DTS. He started a new ministry of discipleship at a guesthouse close to Groblershoop. They focus on discipleship of the coloured community and farmers. Christien will speak on zoom this week again in one of their seminars on the Father heart of God and Hearing God’s voice. There are three communities in the area they focus upon. Ministry in the Nothern Cape area is challenging as it is very warm but very necessary for the communities there.

2)    TPM connections in Upington

We also met a couple in Upington that are part of a small church. Istvan and Tuanita. They did the Online TPM school and are busy with a ministry in Upington. It was a lovely time with them and we could discuss the future of the ministry they want to take and build deeper connections.

3)    An arts ministry in Kotzesrus

We then met Silvia and her husband Jood

in Kotzesrus. Silvia did the TPM online course and the Online Prophetic school – we also presented a shorter Holy Spirit course online in Afrikaans with the local people recently. We visited her ministry with coloured community focusing on kids-art. It is amazing to see how effective her ministry is with the kids around the art. As we minister more around the internet these days it is very good to go and visit the places to see how we can help the people ministering in the local communities.

4)    Ywam conference – The Waves

It was a big and powerful Ywam conference. We had speakers from Kona Hawaii and other areas of the world. It was titled THE WAVES conference – referencing to the image of waves that the Lord showed Loren Cunningham, that He will send out young people as waves of missionaries in the world.. We processed through the bus accident that happened in Tanzania which was very touching. We also looked ahead to Ywam without Loren Cunningham as the founding father. We met and connect with various Ywam ministries in the country as we are doing different projects with some of the basis.

We are also happy to have met Vusi’s wife and baby – he did TPM with Job and the team in Bela-Bela and then DTS with us and he became staff, he them went to other YWAM bases for leadership training ! It was a very blessed Ywam conference and the way forward for Ywam looks bright.

Various other connections in Cape Town and George

As we have various friends in the Cape Town area we could only spend time with a few of the friends. There are others we would have loved to spend time with but time didn’t allow. We are planning a TPM Cape Town (Cape Area) conference next year and the ministry looks very fruitful in that area. We had a lovely time with Alex and Aquilla that hosted us during the time of the conference. Aquilla is also part of the TPM online staff team and she does ministry in the in the community and is also busy with TPM mentoring.

In the Strand we met up with Elsa who was part of our TPM training staff for a long time, she also did DTS with us and she has a heart for missions, was lovely to catch up with her!  We met up with Ann in George as we drove past, and had a lovely lunch with her. She also did our online TPM course recently.

What is next for the last section in the year

Our prophetic school is doing their practicals. I have quite a lot of mentoring sessions that are being birthed out of the schools. Christien and the TPM online team is also finishing off with the TPM school’s practical sessions. I also have two books to read before our humanities outreach next year to Eswatini. With the humanities I have a steep learning curve and I find myself reading and studying quite a lot in this area God is releasing me for this season. We are also starting with a new project for phones and computers which I will maybe talk about in a next newsletter.

All in all the ministry is going well and is fruitful as we have the regular online schools that are very successful and some new projects we are trying out to see the fruit. With Ywam we are free to hear God, to be creative and to experiment.
