Work creation and Arts course!

Hi, everyone. Hope you are doing very well. We are in the month where many people are going away or are going to be with family for the vacations. Here are a few of the highlights for the year from our side.

Very blessed schools for the year

We ran five schools for the year on the internet. Years ago when I was on outreach in London while we were attending a conference we approached the people on the streets. As we got close to them we saw many were on their phones. We tried to talk to some and they grabbed their phones when they saw we wanted to speak to them. When I looked back over the street I saw nearly everyone on their phone while walking home. Then the Holy Spirit said: “You need to get on people’s phones!”

We responded to this word by working out discipleship schools that we tried to get as comprehensive as possible to truly disciple people on phones. The word came to me before Corona. In Corona we worked out two very good schools of encountering the Holy Spirit - the Prophetic School and the Transformation Prayer Ministry School (TPM). We have trained two schools of each every year since. Each year we met new people from all over the world (mostly Africa) and we made very good friends.

The interesting thing about the people we meet online, train online and correspond with is that there is a continual open door afterwards. We added practicals to make it as interactive as possible and we feel the schools are working very well.

Andrea and Francois starting with their ministry in Pretoria

Andrea went for her DTS in the beginning of the year, and Francoise was staff at the DEAF WORLD DTS in Worcester. In the middle of the year they came back with the possibility of a ministry in Pretoria with a deaf church and Trans Oranje Deaf school. They have now established their ministry and are staying in Pretoria with a very successful ministry at a school of 260 deaf children where they see most of the children weekly for Bible classes. Please pray for them in this season!!

First year of empty nest for us

It was the first year where we mostly had no children in the house although we will end up with about 4 months where we had 1 or 2 children in the house. We also had news that all three married couples are pregnant. So we are looking forward to 3 extra grandkids in the first half of next year. It is clearly a change of season for us. We are looking to attend more of the international meetings of Ywam.

The “massify project”

We are busy with a new project where we are creating videos and a training library on the phones for individuals. We will also have a platform where we can have a zoom with people participating in the project as well as ways to evaluate the people participating in the project. This is a project that daily keeps me busy as well as regular TPM sessions on the phone. This ministry focus has been birthed out of a Word of the Lord and we see a lot of fruit and Transformation in people.

Work Creation and Touching Africa

In the town I am busy with two physical projects. The one is the Touching Africa project with the businessman of the town. These projects are for SA and Africa and have big potential. I was also asked to serve on the leadership determining the direction of Touching Africa. One of these projects is the work creation centre Work4aLiving. We trained the facilitator through the year and she has run two courses this year. Her name is Emmah Mosiane. She had 16 students so far; some of whom already got a job. Next year we plan to have about 200 people doing these courses. It is a two week work readiness program where there is Christian discipleship. After that there are 21 courses people can do to improve their skills for the workplace.

Art Connect course

We have plans next year to add an extra art school. Art Connect is for all different types of artists (music, dance, drama, fine arts etc) and we want to give a Godly perspective and identity to empower artists. Alta Krige will be the course leader, she has years of experience in performing arts in Johannesburg inner-city. See our website for more details

We also have quite a few international trips lined up for next year. We are very thankful for God’s grace for the year that passed and great hope for the year that is coming.
