Resurrection & Life
Newsletter April 2024
Hi, guys. Hope you are doing very
well. Hope you are obeying God’s voice and living for God’s kingdom. Here are
the new things God is doing as we walk with Him. We had a lovely Easter weekend
celebrating Christien’s father’s 85th birthday as well as our 28th
wedding anniversary!
Speaking at a mission’s conference
Resurrection Sunday baptisms
Two different groups were
baptized in our pool on Sunday. The church of Pastor Mofokeng baptized 32 new
believers, some are from a new ministry they have at a chicken farm outside of
town. We could see the power of the Holy Spirit as they testified afterwards of
freedom and we could see three deliverances too. We are so happy to be able to
host this church again, seeing how they grow!
The other group was two young
people whom we know, it was amazing how the prophecies we gave them were so on
the spot! What joy to see Jesus’s resurrection
power working!
Kids out of the house
This is the first year in 26
years that we don’t have kids in the house. It gives us time to prepare to go
more on trips. We have decided to try to put in a sun geyser that will
continually save us a lot of money passively. Our hope is that this will help
us to travel more as it can save up to R18000 a year for us passively. We also
hope to get credit out of our lives and we put the next six months apart to
make as much of a dent as we can to free up passive income. Ywam is a volunteer
-organisation it gives a lot of international opportunities but we only get
donations. Please pray with us that we can get passive income going by paying
off debt that we can travel for missions.
New Mentoring program
I was privileged to attend a
holistic life-mentoring program with World outreach. We were taught the basics
of Christian mentoring and as I was already involved in quite a few mentoring
relationships this was a good tool to start using. The challenge in mentoring
is to mentor people from their perspective and not from your own perspective.
This has had the effect that I can mentor more effectively and more
holistically. Together with the TPM it gives me better tools to be able to help
individuals. Between different meetings we spend time doing sessions with
people physically and on the phone. This helps people to get victory in their
personal life with the Holy Spirit.
New Relationship and Marriage course starting
We have a new marriage course
that started1 April. We are very blessed that Ulbe and Marleen Tolbe from the
Netherlands that are leading it and doing a very good job with the marriage
course. We pray that the marriage course will grow and that many marriages will
be enriched as it is a vital place for Chrsitians to get victory.
Prophetic and TPM courses
We are currently busy with the Prophetic
course and the TPM course and the practical sides of both courses are coming
closer. This is a very important time for the students as the practical outcome
of both the courses are vital for their growth. Please pray with us as we want
to release people with good character in the prophetic and we also want to
release ministers into the TPM “prayer counselling” ministry. It is the area of
expertise God has raised me and Christien in and we see a lot of good fruit
flowing from every school. We release people into the kingdom and see some of
them many years later flourishing in their callings as they were activated
through these schools.
Studying theology
I am currently doing the E2M
(Equipped to minister) theology course of New Covenant Ministries International.
I am doing it for personal enrichment and to grow in concepts of truth from the
Scripture. It is a challenge for me but I get a lot of joy from being
stimulated intellectually.
Francois getting his BA degree
Francois and Andrea are coming
back from Worcester this weekend. Francois is getting his degree next Wednesday
in English and sign-language. Andrea is doing her DTS with deaf people and
Francois is co-leading the DTS (DTS is YWAM’s entry course of 6 months). They
are very close to outreach and still need quite a lot of money for their
outreach. We are so thankful that Francoise can celebrate his degree with us
and his parents on Wednesday!
How are the other kids doing?
Jonathan is doing his last year
in electronic engineering and very involved his Light group, Joshua is doing
his second year in IT and maths and also active serving in the church as well
as a Campus Society. Elandri is finishing with her music degree this year and
she is also leading Potch-for-life on campus. Job and Iida are moving closer to
Helsinki into a new flat, they are both active in their church and we are so
thankful for the lovely community they have in Finland.
