Nations 2 Nations in Potch - August 2019

Newsletter August 2019
Yesterday was the first of September and spring
is in the air! It is “swimming time” for us fast approaching and we are excited
and glad after three months of winter. We have our new DTS in the house and we
are 20 people if the speakers are also in the house! But we are very thankful
as it is really a nice and hungry bunch for the glory of God in their lives - a
few excellent missionaries in the making.
The new “Compassion and Justice” DTS
We have 4 staff and 8 students in the DTS and
they have a great time with the speaker, as I am writing this. I am so blessed
with the staff leadership team as they are totally capable of leading the DTS
both spiritually and physically. Therefore I and Christien can be busy with the
organising of the Nations to Nations that is happening pretty shortly. We have
2 refugees and one orphan in the DTS and other great potential of missionaries/preachers.
It is really a strong and an exciting team. Yet, we have issues with the
finances as all are from Africa. We rejoice in raising up African indigenous
missionaries but it does create another struggle financially. We are pushing
forward believing we will do outreach in Zimbabwe, SA and the East. Please pray
with us for the provision of finances for the team going out and their food and
stay. The first three week’s themes were:
YWAM Orientation, The Farther
Heart of God and The Word of God. If you feel lead to contribute for the
DTS – please let us know.
NATIONS
2 NATIONS conference 12 – 14 Sept
We are very excited about our next Potch town
event. We are having it on the University campus and we have Ywamers from all
over the country coming. The event focuses on celebrating cultures, churches
and missions. We have as the main speakers Edwin Fillies and Africa Mohlope.
Edwin is the base leader of Muizenberg which is the biggest base in Africa and
Africa Mohlope is ministering on TV and with Angus Buchan. Please pray with us
for the logistics and all the organising that we have to do as me and my wife
have to take the brunt of the pressure. We hope and we pray for a successful
event and really looking forward to spend time with great friends in missions.
ALL
NATIONS FOR ONE KINGDOM consert
The All nations for one kingdom event was a
great success and we made R10 000 profit for the refugees. We had great
artists from different cultural backgrounds and we were very privileged to
serve there as an YWAM team. A Christian radio station LIFE-FM helped us and
was the main organisers. We had 300-400 people and the event has great growth
potential.
Currently Michelle is in South-Korea marketing
Operation Refugee at an International Korean Church conference. We are very
excited about what God is doing in her life and we hope that we can get good
proceeds as the needs are incredible big.
We are using these funds to send refugees to DTS.
We are on our way to have 6 refugees in this Semester’s DTS through the
Operation Refugee sponsorship program. 2 persons in SA, 2 in Malawi and 2 in
Burundi. We believe that great African leaders will stand up through this
program and that we will see the fruit in Africa. In our local DTS we have one
refugee from Ethiopia and one from Zimbabwe with lots of passion for God and
great potential as missionaries.
“Refugee”
YWAM base starting in Malawi
As a direct result of our work, a new base is
starting in Lilongwe with previous refugees as the new base leaders! They were
directly sponsored by Operation Refugee Africa. I got to know this lovely and
talented couple in the refugee camp. Today they are visionary leaders and they
are opening a base a few kilometres from the refugee camp. We want to give a
great THANK YOU to the Ywam Blantyre base as they did the training and also
assisted with the further training and sponsorships. We hope to be at 19
refugees sponsored at the end of this year and then to start gaining more
momentum. Sango from DRC got a sponsorship to go the Switzerland for an YWAM
course in humanities. We are continuing to see God’s promises coming true!
Invitation
to England
I have been invited as one of the main speakers
to London England at the end of October for the YWAM Think Tank. I need a
further R13 000 as we are also going to the United Nations in Geneva after
the Think Tank.
Ø Please pray with me for God’s provision and the
VISAS. I already applied for my British VISA.
TPMers
qualified
Christien trained three more Prayer Counselling
facilitators in the last two months – Two ladies from the Vaal triangle who
have a blooming counselling office and training and also a Zimbabwean lady who
wants to do TPM in Zimbabwe. The plan is
to host a TPM for CHILDREN
