TPMSA conference in Bela-Bela Nov 2018

We praise and thank God for a full year. In this last two months we attended 4 conferences. It looked like an uphill battle to attend all these important conferences but somehow we managed by God’s grace and it enabled us to build a wide national and international network.

Government conference

Our first conference was with a government body called the Association of Religious Practitioners. They are an academic quality overseeing body that was called into being to oversee the qualifications of religious practitioners in South-Africa. Through this body we can get continual professional development and also we can become main stream as a counselling body and training facility.

South-African YWAM conference

After that we attended the SA YWAM conference in Durban. This was an amazing conference for networking in the SA region and we strengthened relationships with the other bases and came up to date with the latest developments in SA. We had Africa Mohlope as the main speaker. He spoke with Angus Buchan on various conferences for men. He was able to clearly show the idols in SA and I was very excited afterwards as he has a very important message and the author of several books. We will be looking to work with him next year.

UN conference in Switzerland

After that we were off to Europe to speak at the United Nations with YWAM. It was a great privilege to be one of the YWAM speakers at the UN. I spoke about “the Rule of the good idea”. This is a proposal on a research project in a refugee camp for 30 000-40 000 people. We also attended the YWAM Think Tank – we were “thinking with God” on many issues and had very good speakers and discussions.

My presentation was very well received and we distributed 30 books in the UN. We are now waiting for the response from the UN. We also build very good relationships in YWAM and were invited to Gibraltar for a Refugee circle meeting next year.

                                                                                            

Conference of TPM South-Africa

Then we were off to Bela -Bela to speak and participate in the TPM SA conference. We had speakers on addiction, child therapy, dissociative identity disorder and intercultural relationships and therapy. Through this conference it became clear that we can deal with all kinds of difficulties in a town.

We were also equipped with the latest handbooks for training and we met a few students for our upcoming DTS in February. Our student numbers also started to increase afterwards and we started to get excited for what God is going to do at the DTS.

From Institution to Apostolic movement

I am busy reading a book from the leader from Argentina. He is currently one of the most influential YWAM leaders currently. He has written a book on how to grow from an institution to a movement that brings change in the community. We felt his is what God is doing currently with churches and our local training in our schools is also focused on how we can be obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit personally and corporately.

Invitation to Malawi late in December

I have been invited to speak at a YWAM base in Blantyre 17-20 December. We continue to obey the Holy Spirit daily and we see God’s master plan unfolding daily. Most of the time, we only see afterwards what the bigger plan was. It is a great privilege to enjoy this adventure with God and the family and we are heading for a bit of a breather. For the first time in 6 years we will have a December break and we are very much looking forward to it.

All this would have been impossible if it was not for the prayers and the support of our friends. We want to thank you greatly as you participate in the spread of the gospel and the very important work of the Holy Spirit in our midst.
