Operation REFUGEE Africa - News Sept 2015
Hi from Potch, SA.
We hope you
had a great month in August. Operation refugee is an Ywam Potch ministry
specifically focused on refugees. When we went on outreach to a refugee camp in
Malawi, we got 50 refugees that applied for Discipleship Training School in
YWAM. We then started the operation refugee ministry to provide bursaries for
them to do DTS in African YWAM Bases.
Steven during an YWAM outreach earlier this year to his previous Refugee Camp in Malawi
What does the DTS’s do?
·
Ywam has a base about 300 km from the refugee
camp. The cost of the DTS is 400$ for the lecture phase and 200$ for the
outreach phase. In the lecture phase the students have 11 weeks where
missionaries minister to them and train them. In this time the focus is on
their creation purpose, their godly design and calling.
·
The refugees book out of the refugee camp and
embark on a journey in the DTS where they study with other international
students. In this process the refugees can be trained as missionaries to the
Congo or central Africa. All of these students come from the Congo.
·
Steven was a refugee and did DTS with us. Now he
has a ministry in the Congo and works with kids. Here is a few photo’s of what
Steven is doing. He asks for donations for children to go to school – see on his
Facebook Imani Kibambazi Steven.
TESTIMONY for Operation Refugee Africa:
Through the grace of God we could sponsor 2 students for the DTS that
started 26 August. The 2 student’s names are Tresor and Jimmy. They are
currently in the Blantyre YWAM base and it is going very well.
Tresor and Jimmy
·
We still need the outreach money for these 2
students which is 200$ each.
·
PLEASE Sponsor them with a $100 or $50 per month
or/ once off.

The other good side of the camp is that some people because of the badness of life choose to seek God

We had a habit of praying but really in sense of following the movement
but God kept on
revealing himself to us in different ways.
It was in April that we met a team of YWAM from South Africa in their outreach in the camp.
