Newsletter October 2015
Hi, to all from a very warm
Potch. Greetings in the name of Jesus. May the gospel reach to the ends of the
earth. We are very excited about the new season. Here are some of the
highlights.
Discipleship training school
We will start with our new
discipleship training school the 20 November. It looks like 11 students at this
stage from 6 nations. In the time of the DTS
there is a lot of spiritual activity. We are amazed to see where the students
of last year are now and how the DTS have impacted their lives to launch them
into a different season. All of them are at a much better place now and are
serving the Lord.
We
are very excited to meet our new group that God is championing in all kinds of
different aspects. We can feel the momentum of the previous DTS’s as people
were referred and the name of Jesus are spreading and giving life. We pray that
all the young people God are calling will have a personal encounter with God
through Jesus Christ and that they will grow in their personal relationship
with the Holy Spirit.
Counseling
training in churches
We
are currently busy with a training of 15 people in a church. We are privileged
to see how excited the people are to be empowered to hear the voice of God. As
this ministry deals with the pain in people’s lives we see the work of God as
He transforms people in front of our eyes. We had people come to us that were
referred to by a psychologist from a neighbouring town. What people could not
do Jesus can do and we are privileged to see that people are becoming aware
that Jesus can help them better than the world.
Student
house
We
are sorry to say goodbye to the students that we walked with for the whole
year. We became great friends with them. As most of them are first years we
will see them again at the campus next year. We had a few people that enquired
to stay at the Ywam house for next year. Unfortunately next year we will only
give accommodation to Ywam students and staff. We felt this is the way we must
build for next year as we want to build a pool
of missionaries. We might consider a student house later on again as we hear
what God says.
Trip to
the USA
We
are praying to go to a Ywam conference next year in San Francisco. The
conference is about “how to take your city”. Please pray with us for this trip.
We have students from the first DTS we want to visit in the States and also
students from our local university. We plan to visit Washington for a few days
and then to fly to San Francisco from there. I also have other international
trips lined up but it is always a journey of faith for me for the tickets and
the arrangements around international trips.
Job
writing matric final exams
As
I am writing Job is writing final exams. He has been a great student at school
and he is very intelligent in his reasoning. We are looking forward to a great
future for him as he has a passion for the community. We want to be wise in our
advice for him and we are looking for a marketplace mission future for him. We
are planning that he goes with us to the US for the meeting in San Fransisco,
but a lot of water has to flow into the sea for that. Please pray for him. He is here on the photo with a friend @ his farewell.
Invitations
to minister
I
ministered in Fochville with a gospel singer. In the front row there was a lady
in a wheel chair. I prayed for her and the power of the Holy Spirit was
present. I helped her to stand up and she started to slowly walk. As I
continued to pray her legs grew stronger and somebody that knew her very well,
broke into tears as she was walking! At that moment the Holy Spirit showed me a
golden line in her legs and I felt that the healing was through. I know that
more is coming and in this DTS , we trust God for quite a few ministry
opportunities. We already saw quite a few serious healings and we are waiting
on God to open the door to opportunity to teach and spread the revelation from
Jesus that brings the power of the Holy Spirit into people’s lives. More
churches are opening up and we are very excited as we’re ministering this
Sunday in another city.
Student
uprisings
We
had some activity at our local university but not too much. It is important to
pray for the universities in South-Africa in this specific time and season. The
uprising was about lowering the fees for studies as the government made the
subsidies less to the universities. As a result the higher education fees
jumped quite a bit. Most people are happy because of the results of the
uprisings because it was an injustice that was addressed. Some are worried
about the amount of violence that was seen. We had a little standoff between
black and white and students facing off at a monument of Totius. Yet in the end
all nations united against higher fees and everybody is happy. Everything is
calm but all the exams are being written a week later now.
God
has called us for a specific time and season. We are thankful for the growing
momentum and we will need to set structures in place to handle
growth.
At this stage we are praying into this. It was a very interesting year and we
had a lot of birth pains. But in the end it was valuable lessons we can take
forward and build upon.
Please pray for us for clear guidance by the Holy
Spirit and that everybody will enjoy the intimate presence of the Holy Spirit!
