Two great conferences in the Cape

The TPMSA conference in Cape Town
We had the privilege to have a Cape Town
conference that was organized by Anel and assisted by Ruan at Shofar church in
Durbanville. We had about 60 people that attended with 6 large churches and
ministries represented to hear about TPM and also to get their people trained. The
testimonies that was shared was really heart-warming and touching.
TPM has been one of our major thrusts, and we
have been training TPM schools since 2009. Through the grace of God we now see
groups developing in many cities in SA. Now in many cities we travel in SA we
can visit someone that did the course in that city.
See link to watch the conference at
the end of the newsletter.
We had a very good YWAM regional conference as we spent 2 weeks in the Cape Province in the beginning of the month. It was a very blessed time as we could also process where we are going as a base in Potchefstroom. The conference was packed with connections, encouragement and good teaching and a time to testify about our ministry and courses.
We were not doing discipleship training schools
(DTS) after Covid, but we have been busy with lighter ministries that work for
our context.
As YWAM welcomes creativity, we are also aligned with the UofN (YWAM’s University), we are in in good co-ordination with the national movement.
Work creation strategy
As SA has a jobless rate of about 42% under the
black youth we have been working together with local businessmen to stimulate
the local township economy. Ywam Potch has been asked to administrate small
business loans to African small entrepreneurs by Touching Africa. We launched
this program last month and we are very excited about the results we have seen so
far. The businessmen are committed to have a loan strategy for entrepreneurs
where they pay back the money with a very low interest, but they also get
coaching in their business. As the problems in the community are to go over the
racial boundary and as there are other spiritual issues that need to be sorted
out Ywam Potch is involved in the strategy. We have now seemed to hit a sweet
spot and it can grow quickly. Please pray for this strategy as it can kickstart
the township economy in our local township with young entrepreneurs in society
that is already doing things but just needs financing and coaching to become successful.
Jonathan returned from India with Christal,
which is his fiancé. They are preparing to marry in January. This starts a new
journey for us with India. We have eaten Indian food and watched a very funny
and profound Indian movie with her. Jonathan is very adventurous, travelling a
lot and moving and shaking where he goes. We are looking forward to and exciting
and adventurous future with the couple as we continue to learn about other
cultures Please pray for our preparation in the next 2 months for the wedding.
