Outreach and preaching news

Hi, from Potchefstroom. Hope you are doing very well. We are on our way to the last 2 months of the year. We thank God what he has done through the year and in October. Here is what happened in October.

Speaking at a discipleship training school (DTS) in Rwanda

It was a privilege to be invited to Rwanda to speak on hearing God’s voice. There were 17 students from different central African nations. We also had 8 staff. It was an experience to be in Kigali for the first time in a week. Kigali has about 7 million people in the capital. I previously spend some time in Burundi and in the DRC. But for me it was the first time in Rwanda. I was pleasantly surprised at the health of the base. They have a big property and a pre-school and a school. They have about 282 kids that they are educating.

Meeting Avigail in Rwanda

I was very surprised to meet Avigail in Rwanda. She was one of our DTS students at our base. She came from Ethiopia and went back to Ethiopia after the DTS. Now she was accepted as one of the teachers at the Christian school in Rwanda. We could find a time to speak, and it was with great interest that I learnt how the Holy Spirit led her after the DTS and I listened to all her adventures she had in Ethiopia and how her path led to Rwanda. She will be a very good teacher and is a great asset to the base there.

Invitation to preach in Ikageng

When I came back, I was invited to preach at a church in Ikageng with pastor Mofokeng. Earlier the year he invited me to also be one of the speakers at the men’s conference of the international assemblies of God (IAG). I learnt that there are over 2000 churches in SA. The sermon was on Facebook live and I received another invitation after the sermon. It was with great interest that I saw the growth of the church as I know the pastor now for about 25 years. The gospel continuous to be essential for society as it is the salt that works against the rotting in the society. As the government is facing a moral crisis all the work of the churches in the society is essential to combat the issues we face in society.

Christien having an arts exhibition at Aardklop

Christien had a stall at the Reformed church that is a venue for Aardklop at the G5 at the Bult. She met lots of people and artists. She continues to grow in the field of art with her exposure at different venues. She is also displaying her art now permanently at a venue just outside Potch.

Prophetic school in their practical stage

With the prophetic you can swim in swimming pool, or you can go deep sea diving. In the prophetic school we take people from never really having heard God’s voice to a place where they can confidently prophesy to friends and family. It is a school where students deepen their relationship with the Holy Spirit to the extent where they can depend on what they receive from the Holy Spirit.

We had our first meeting for the prophetic company which is students that passed the prophetic school and is building a lifestyle of the prophetic. It was a great success and those present wanted to have more meetings in the future. We are building a community, and it is a joy to see what God is doing in the lives of the students after they did the school.

The TPM students graduating

Christien finished with the second semester’s TPM school. We had a good number of students that finished school and can help others with life’s pains. It is so wonderful to work with such a group of volunteer staff that is willing to walk the road with the students, mentoring them in the TPM process and principals. We start a new TPM course in February 2026 – invite your friends!!

Weekly Wikus goes to a school in Promosa to do sessions with the students. After a few years we can now really start to see the effect and for the first time I feel we have a successful turnaround strategy for the school. I have now been accepted as the formal councilor of the school and we are looking to train teachers in the skill that they can take further in the school.

Family Update

Our children are all doing very well. Jonathan came back from a wonderful prayerful outreach; Andrea and Francois were teaching and helping with outreach at the DEAF DTS in YWAM Worcester for two weeks. Josua is doing well at his student cell group on campus and he will finish his degree this year. Elandri and Matthew were involved in the Potch4Life – ForTheOne fundraising event and it was very blessed. Job and Iida and the two little ones are doing well as both parents are studying and they are also involved in their church community. Please pray with use for all the children and grandchildren.

Prayer topics:

1)    The Prophetic Company to grow and to build a strong community of students that did the school.

2)    The TPMSA movement that does sessions all over SA. For us to build a healthy movement of prayer “councilors” / mentors.

3)    I am currently writing a book on biblical worldview in governance. Please keep me in prayer for that.
