Sowing in good soil - July news

Reaching out to a community outside of Potch

Newsletter July 2022

Praise God for the many things He is doing. We get all the bad news from the newspapers but that is not the only reality. The reality is many good things are also happening and God is also hard at work in people and building His kingdom. It is a great privilege to participate with the Holy Spirit in what He is doing.

Trips for the second part of the year

  • ¨  Democratic Republic of Congo

I was invited to join in meetings with pastors and to preach with an evangelist in this country. We are going to Kinshasa which is a mega-city. Kinshasa has an approximate population of 13-15 million people. It is one of the mega-cities of the world. I am going up to see the possibility of the planting of Ywam bases in the area as well as the partnership with churches in the area. This will be my second time visiting the country and I am really looking forward to the trip as I am a little bit of a born adventurer.

  • ¨  Uganda

I was invited to talk in an Ywam school in Kampala in Uganda. This is a great opportunity to invest in leaders in the area as many leaders of East Africa and central Africa are in this school. After Corona the possibilities to travel opened again and I received many invitations to many countries in a few weeks. But after prayer I had peace with the countries we plan to go before the end of the year. Our new season seems to be more the season of teaching. This comes very natural to me as nearly everyone in our family is in some form of teaching.

  • ¨  Malawi

In December there is two weeks of speaking on a DTS (discipleship training school) in Malawi. This is mostly people from the DRC area that is in the refugee camps. This is the place we do the training. Ywam’s university of the nations (Uofn) can become a very powerful university in the central African region as there is a need of training in the Central African region. In this new season the calling from the Holy Spirit is more into eldership, teaching, and the pioneering of new areas. I expect to travel quite a bit. It is exciting and expensive, but it is worth the while as Africa is currently the most Christian continent in the world. Many leaders can come from this continent and good, healthy training is essential for the stabilization and the prosperity of the continent.

Internet schools starting again - On  UofN Extension Studies platform

  • ¨  Prophetic school

We have great fruit from our previous prophetic school and there is great excitement from those that are walking in these newfound gifts of the Holy Spirit. They have great potential to become great leaders that really know the Holy Spirit.

  • ¨  Transformation prayer school

This school is the school that has borne the most fruit in the history of our base. We have been training it for 13 years. We have trained nearly 800 people in the history of the base and nearly half of the students were from this school. In the last few schools we have really gone international. This is Christien’s school, and she enjoys doing many sessions with many people as empathy is her major gift.

  • ¨  Evangelizing worldviews

This is the third evangelizing worldview school that we are doing, and we seem to be heading for our biggest school yet. This school is an eye opener to see the major worldviews at work and what the scripture is saying on it.

These three schools are adding many students. We also start with the refugee school at the end of the year next to a refugee camp. We are also planning the family school for September.

The aim of the internet schools is to be able to get into every house. Today most houses has a computer or/and a phone. This makes these tools very useful tools so that everyone that wants to do a discipleship school in these areas is able to do it.

Hosting visiting YWAM couples

We are happy to host a lovely mission’s couple from YWAM Spain this week – they are very kind and helped Sai-Moon and Charity to distribute food parcels and pray for people on the streets.

Last week we also hosted a couple from YWAM Switzerland who plans to start a ministry in our province. We are so happy that God sends workers for the harvest is plentiful!

PRAYER TOPICS

Ø  We really wants to praise God for providing everything Josua needed for his DTS in Europa – he had to come home earlier due to the fact that his visa took too long and his Schengen visa ran out. Now he will finish his DTS outreach phase off with an outreach in Africa... so it will still be very valuable. He will send out a newsletter with more details soon. Look at his Facebook Josua Vorster. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Ø  Andrea and Francois are also on a mission trip – they went to Zimbabwe with a team from their church for church planting. Please pray for the team.

Ø  Please also pray for out other children and their studies that will start again end of July

Ø  Please pray for our new online schools and the new students – we are so excited for a new group, new staff team and a lot to learn and experience!
