Operation REFUGEE Africa - News Sept 2015

Hi from Potch, SA.
We hope you had a great month in August. Operation refugee is an Ywam Potch ministry specifically focused on refugees. When we went on outreach to a refugee camp in Malawi, we got 50 refugees that applied for Discipleship Training School in YWAM. We then started the operation refugee ministry to provide bursaries for them to do DTS in African YWAM Bases.

What does the DTS’s do?
·        Ywam has a base about 300 km from the refugee camp. The cost of the DTS is 400$ for the lecture phase and 200$ for the outreach phase. In the lecture phase the students have 11 weeks where missionaries minister to them and train them. In this time the focus is on their creation purpose, their godly design and calling.
·        The refugees book out of the refugee camp and embark on a journey in the DTS where they study with other international students. In this process the refugees can be trained as missionaries to the Congo or central Africa. All of these students come from the Congo.
·        Steven was a refugee and did DTS with us. Now he has a ministry in the Congo and works with kids. Here is a few photo’s of what Steven is doing. He asks for donations for children to go to school – see on his Facebook Imani Kibambazi Steven.

TESTIMONY for Operation Refugee Africa:
Through the grace of God we could sponsor 2 students for the DTS that started 26 August. The 2 student’s names are Tresor and Jimmy. They are currently in the Blantyre YWAM base and it is going very well.

·        We still need the outreach money for these 2 students which is 200$ each.

TESTIMONY FROM OUR TWO REFUGEE DTS STUDENTS:

“We are Tresor Mpenzi and Jimmy Ntwali from DRC living in Malawi
as refugee in a refugee camp from 2012.
Life in camp is really hard that is not easy to be in a good relationship with God
but we thank God that he didn't let us down.
The other good side of the camp is that some people because of the badness of life choose to seek God
We had a habit of praying but really in sense of following the movement
but God kept on revealing himself to us in different ways.
It was in April that we met a team of YWAM from South Africa in their outreach in the camp.
they explained us what is YWAM and how it works
and ask us to join the movement  if we were interested.
Most of people around 50 candidates including ourselves registered to join the movement
but there was a big challenge to every body: paying the school fees
But the leader Mr Wikus promised that with God they will see what to do.
I don't  know for really what they did but I can guess a fund rising
and get some money for only two guys to join DTS in YWAM Blantyre
luck enough the two of us were chosen among others and now we are in Blantyre.
It started on 26/08 we are a class of 25 students.
God is doing big things with us and we are looking forward to what is next.
How I wish for my friends who have that passion of joining YWAM
for knowing God and make him known
to get such a sponsorship them too
so they may meet God and serve him.
I hope to have our outreach fees to be payed too to experience God gift in us and make him known.
God bless every body involved in this project.
 In Jesus name Amen.”

JOIN us in providing bursaries for more refugee students
We will first pay their outreach fees and then we will move on to bursaries for more Refugees to start doing DTS - for their life transforming studies. This project can really help the refugees and can change many lives of people that have been victims of war. Please help with any donation. God bless!!

Blessings
