Treasures in Heaven
Dear Friends
Praise God for an amazing season ahead for the second
semester. Thank you to all the people praying for us and helping us in every
way. Last week were stuck next to the road because of car trouble and it was so
wonderful to see many people truly caring and helping us.
We have quite a few very important events coming up:
ALL NATIONS FOR ONE KINGDOM CONCERT
Michelle that works with us in Operation Refugee came
up with the brilliant idea to organise a concert for Operation Refugee. She was
a brilliant example of marketplace missions. She is a marketer God called into
missions. She set up the event, organised sponsors and advertised all over
Potch. We and the refugees are very grateful for all her efforts. We expect up
to 1000 people attending the event. Tickets cost R80 and the proceeds go for
refugees to do a YWAM DTS in Africa.
One Crown, Joshua Na Die Reën, Jus’Brain (a rapper),
Dancers and many more artists are performing. Please pray for this event as it
can be a breakthrough moment were we can sponsor more refugees for DTS. Please buy a ticket to support Operation
Refugee Africa – even if you cannot attend.
NATIONS TO
NATIONS missions’ conference
YWAM Potch is also organising a Nations to Nations Conference
for Potchefstroom. Our core theme is celebrating cultures, celebrating churches
and celebrating missions. We are tremendously blessed that the University gave
us permission to host the conference on the North West University campus. The
event is headed up by Edwin Fillies the base leader of YWAM Muizenberg that is
the biggest base in Africa. We are bringing Afrika Mohlope, that minister with
Angus Buchan at the Mighty Men Conferences, also for the event. His key areas
of expertise are to help us understand how the ancestor worship infiltrates
Christianity and godly leadership. He has also written a book about leadership
and speaks on TBN Africa TV. As there are many Christian leaders in Potch, it
is important to realise how to lead according to the kingdom of heaven and not
according to the principles of the world in the church. We have the whole Potch
Church Leaders council involved and all the churches on the campus. The Student
Organisation Ratio Christi is also on board and we will also invite all
missions Organisations to join - this promises to be a truly unifying event.
DISCIPLESHIP
TRAINING SCHOOL
We are privileged to again start with a DTS the 16
August. We are looking at about 10 students and 5 staff. This gives us 20
people in the house again. In our previous DTS our aim was to create a good staff
leadership team that can run a very good DTS. Please pray with us as there are
pretty important outreaches coming up.
INVITITATION
TO BE A SPEAKER IN ENGLAND
Wikus were invited to be am African representative at
the YWAM’s THINK TANK in London UK and also to be a speaker at that event. It
is in early November.
I am working on a book: The dawn of a new democracy - with the ability to tame the continent of
war. The aim of this book is to short-circuit dictators and corruption by
creating good government systems. This was the two major driving forces in the
refugee crisis in Africa. Africa produces 80% of the world’s refugees. I am
going to part of a team that is going again to the United Nations this year in
October and early November. Please pray for funds as it is going to cost me a
pretty penny. YWAM doesn’t pay anything for anybody at any level even not for tickets
with an invitation to speak. YWAM is truly a faith mission. This is all to make
sure that the people are really called by God. In Loren Cunningham’s book: “Is
it really you God?” he explains some principles when God is really at work. The
refugee crisis is very serious and the governmental crisis is serious even for
South-Africa. Please pray with us for this event as well!

provision
- > We went through a time of birth pains and we need
extra prayers in this time of growth
- > Pray with us that we can do all these events with
God’s power and not our own might – by His Spirit and in faith!

store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For
where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
