New ways of bringing hope

Newsletter October 2023

Hi, hope everyone is doing very well. Thank you for walking and praying with us. Some have been with us for many years. We really thank you for all the prayers friendship and support in many ways! Focusing on missions is not the easiest lifestyle but it has the privilege of seeing and experiencing how God works firsthand. Congratulations to the Springboks also for winning the World Cup rugby again! Here are some of the highlights as we move toward the end of the year.

Working on a job-creation center   - We are working with Touching Africa towards a job creation center. We are in the process of partnering with Touching Africa and Work for a Living to see if we can open a training center for job creation. We hope to see the training being established next year. We have now finished with Ivan from world outreach with a life coaching course and we are looking to establish a work for a living center. They have been working with job creation for 17 years and have learnt a lot of lessons. They have quite a few short courses available that are cheap and can provide the training for those that don’t have work at all. Please pray for us as this center has a lot of potential to address real issues in our communities.

Southern-African Ywam leaders meeting  - Christien went to the SA meeting of Ywam in Jeffrey’s Bay. It was a very blessed meeting as most of the YWAM leaders people went to the meeting. It is a time of transition for Ywam globally as the founder Loren Cunningham died in the last month. He was a true servant of God and had extreme success during his lifetime as God really blessed his work globally. He has left a great legacy as we have an international university that is operating globally because of his work. Christien connected well with the YWAM ministries around the country and she was again made aware of our important role in reaching our local people with the gospel in a practical way. Discipleship and mentorship is needed. Many people struggle to overcome poverty, orphan spirit and traditional ancestral worship.

TPM in SA conference coming up (Transformation Prayer Ministry)  - We are heading up the TPMSA meeting that will be held in Kroonstad the 10th- to 11th November. It is the first in-person conference we will hold again, and we will also be streaming it on Facebook. We are thankful for the Kroonstad Sel Gemeente who will host us. We have trained about 400 people, and some go on and do many sessions and others only do personal sessions. The Conference will focus on topics like TPM and Children, Handling Anger and Truth based pain, TPM Training etc. See ywampotch.com.

Online Prophetic school and TPM online school finishing  - The people in the prophetic school are doing their last training sessions. The prophetic school is focusing on the relationship with Jesus, and it is great to see how the people are growing in understanding their calling and growing in relationship with God. Our prophetic schools have been blessed from the time of Corona and we had over 40 initial students. We also have very committed staff from all over the world English and French.

The TPM School is also finishing in this time, students and small groups had some extra time to finish homework and practice sessions in small groups. We are so excited that people are so committed to work hard to develop their TPM skill. Hearing a lot of testimonies of how God’s answers changed people’s worldview and view of themselves, finding their true identity in Christ.

Working on humanities schools - Currently I am part of a group that is working on presenting internet humanities schools. It is a very exciting project, and I am also going to do the school myself. Humanities deals with governance and the political sphere. I must study what the bible says about governance and must get in line with what YWAM has learnt over the years with what has been taught and written on this subject. In YWAM you can learn continually as God walks with you in your calling. This is an exciting and new shift in what God has been doing with our base.

Possible TPM school & the Student Prophetic school in Potch We have been asked to do a TPM school in Ikageng. This is a good opportunity to train counselors for the community in Setswana. This will be an in-person school. Please pray for us to overcome all obstacles to be able to do this course with our local community!

Currently we are also busy with an in person prophetic school. We have about 12 students in our prophetic school, and we are glad we can do a school close to the university again.  Most students submitted their homework and we had such blessed time in the Theory and also lots of practice sessions. This group is a multicultural and multi-generational group that really loves, support and learn from each other! We plan to have the same school in 2024 in Potch!

Donations  - As most of you know, Ywam is a volunteer ministry where we do fundraising for our income. Wikus is currently fulltime a missionary and Christien is working on and off at the University for some extra income. She does all the admin, social media, posters and also a lot of TPM sessions. We also plan to rent out our flat (currently busy to renovate and clean it up).We need more monthly sponsors to be able to keep on doing our ministry. Please pray about a monthly donation you can give us, as part of your regular contribution to the Body of Christ
