Radion talk and new online schools

Hi guys. Hope you are doing very well where you are. We are so happy to have celebrated our 26^th wedding anniversary and our Dad’s 83th birthday this week! We have so much to be thankful for during through fruitful years!  

Potchefstroom becoming a hub for world mission

We have been invited to speak on the radio with about 70 000 listeners. Because we have internet schools the schools are doable for everyone! We had a very nice time with Mr T. He was born in Texas and his mother comes from South Africa. So, he was really an international individual with an open mind. As a black person he had questions around Christianity and colonialism, apartheid and slavery. He said the answers were some of the best he has ever heard! Because I have done the BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW SCHOOL myself, it equipped me to reason, and it now helped a lot while speaking before many people.

The other Ywam base (Fire & Fragrance SA) also had a big event in town of more than a 1000 people. As two bases in Potch, a lot of people are being trained for world missions and a lot of evangelism is being done!

Joshua on his way to Netherlands

When Joshua said he felt the Holy Spirit said he can go to Netherlands for discipleship training school all the family was a bit skeptical. It was a lot of money to get there, and it seemed a bridge too far. But his ticket is booked, and he is on his way! He still needs money for his outreach, but he is all set to go for his lecture phase! He really acted in faith and we can see God’s had of provision for Josua. Please keep praying for him. He will only be back in September!

New schools being developed for the second semester

We are currently looking to develop a new internet school called the BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS SCHOOL. When I talked on the biblical worldview school in a country that have primary another religion, I realized how important it is for people to have a solid foundation out of scripture for worldview. Out of this was born an idea for a school totally founded on searching the scripture for a foundation in the scripture.

Online Family school

We have also linked up again with an YWAM couple we got to know in 2012 where they were busy with the family ministry school. They have agreed to tweak a school they use to talk on DTS’s to teach at a family school with us on the internet. We are looking to maybe also launch this school in the second half of the year. We are very excited of the healing in families that can take place by this course – please pray with us!

Developing an internet discipleship community

Ywam has amazing discipleship schools. But you have to put months apart to fully do the schools. That is still available and very good to do but the Corona virus time has released new potential for discipleship focused schools. The Holy Spirit challenged our base to get on the computers and the phones of individuals and to have schools available for people on their phones. This is a door that have opened in the last few years and especially because the culture has started to develop of training after school more and more on technology. I was talking to my brother that is working full-time as a professor at the university. What they found at the university is that it is very difficult to beat the value of online training if it is done well and different platforms are used. It is not better than training in person but when all the financial benefits and the practical benefits of the person that is studying is considered, they see a trend that more and more people choose the technological training. We had about 100 students that applied for our schools in this semester. Not all finish though and we are looking at about 60 that are engaging with the schools till the end. Some engage till they got some answers they needed in their life and then they disengage. After we have done 7 years of in person training; we enjoy the benefits of technology at this time. And the schools are expanding!

Ending Bible Poverty - Fruits of the Radio talk

We are so thankful to get a donation of 300 French Bibles for People in Africa – coming from donors who had a mission in DRC they listened to the radio talk. We are excited send it to the YWAM Refugee Ministry in Dzaleka Malawi who works with Congolese refugees who speaks French. Please pray for the cost and arrangements to send these Bibles! We are excited to back up the Operation Refugee Missionaries in Malawi with this donation!

It was so lovely to have YWAM friends over from Switzerland last week David and Suzanne– they plan to pioneer a new ministry in North West – and we met and connected them. Great to meet a couple who have a heart for South Africa and the Lords work!
