Expansion of His Kingdom

 Newsletter August 2021

Hi, to everyone. Hope you are doing very well and you are healthy and overcoming and enjoying life. We are happy to see the blossoms of the first signs of spring as we are coming out of one of the most gruelling winters with the biggest Corona wave in South-Africa as well. We also were affected and thank God that we came through unscarred to enjoy the coming spring and summer.

Finishing the refugee handbook

I have written a course for the international refugee circle for the last three months. It has been a lot of work but through the grace of God the course is in the final stages. Now I have to present it to the circle and see if there are changes that need to be made. This course can be used over whatsapp and email. After the Corona lockdowns we were challenged to create other pathways for the gospel. Our internet ministry is doing really well as we created handbooks that can be used with the zoom meetings. Because of the right format that is working successfully we can now create the refugee school also in the same format. This is a very exciting development and we already have three possible languages we are looking for translation.

Preparing for DTS

After the lockdowns in April 2019 we didn’t feel we should continue with DTS but rather focus on internet ministry. Now however we were invited to do a DTS and join in a joint venture to develop a missions plot. Please pray with us for this venture. We already have a few students and staff interested. We are looking for development on the property and we are only looking for DTS of about 10 students.

We have been praying for years for a property/ small farm close to town and this invitation came as a miracle for us. But as we are two mission organisations at the same property we are building the relationship and will see where we go in the course of time. For now we will look to run a DTS end of January and then go from there. Please pray for the practical things to fall in place for the property and the DTS. Donations of kitchen ware, furniture and plants will be appreciated. Please pray with us for DTS students and staff and their fundraising!

Finishing with courses

Christien’s Transformation Prayer Ministry course did very well and we have really seen an increase in TPM sessions internationally. She did sessions in a lot of different countries (China, Germany, England and Canada to name a few). Counselling ministry has really increased in its importance after the pandemic. TPM is not counselling as such, but more a way to connect you with Jesus! Our network is expanding beyond South-African borders and we see great increase.

We had 10 small group leaders who volunteered to do the small groups each week – this really made it an interactive course – we became like a family. Some students could only listen to the recoding of the weekly zoom class, but we could still practise TPM sessions weekly, we also gave the students many sessions with LIFE GIVING transformation that followed.

TPM is “positioning prayer” –humbly receiving answers from Jesus. Some students join the course for a second time, and then they experience that they truly understand the process and the essential concepts better. Let’s praise the Lord for His faithfulness in this course!

The Prophetic School is also nearing its end with the zoom meetings and it was an amazing journey with this group. It was a very special group as we had YWAM leaders from different regions being equipped in the details of the prophetic and they were very excited! The prophetic can become complicated and the teaching helps with details in order to create a prophetic lifestyle. During one of the classes Christien prayed for the students to receive dreams from God – and one student testified that she received amazing dreams from Jesus –directly giving her words for people.

Testing positive before going to DRC

I was very excited to go on my first international trip from the start of Covid. Everything was going very well. The ticket was paid and all the other expenses were covered by sponsors and my suitcase was ready as I was waiting to be picked up for the airport. I was just waiting for the confirmation of my health test before the flight and then the shock. I tested positive for Covid!

I am convinced it was because I had Covid about 2 months ago and they also said I can test positive till three months after you had the virus but the problem was they were going to test me twice in DRC as well. The time was up and I had no choice but to stay home. I still have no symptoms a week after the test and I missed a very good opportunity for the gospel. But with a career in the gospel it is not the end of the world. We prayed and got answers from the Lord, we know that all our plans are in HIS hands, a safe place!

New projects

20 September we are starting with a brand new school on the internet focusing on Biblical worldview. We are working with Ratio Christi who is specialists in worldview in this area. Understanding worldview as it is going forward in this fast paced technological world helps to equip missionaries to preach the gospel.

We are excited with three new projects we are taking on in the DTS and the new property, the biblical worldview school and the refugee school. It is going to keep us busy in creating relational networks around specific focus areas till probably the end of next year

We praise God as we are really seeing His hand and wisdom in the continual expansion of His Kingdom as we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit daily as far as we can discern His will.

Our Children is such a blessing!

ü  Job and Iida are newlyweds and we can praise the Lord that they are really doing well. Both are very involved in their church and their studies. Job has a podcast called “The substantial life” where he discusses essentials of life. Feel free to listen: https://anchor.fm/substantiallife
