Leaders from YWAM Malawi came to visit!

 Hi, from Potch. Hope you are hearing the Holy Spirit speaking to you and you are building God’s kingdom where you are, according to God’s calling. We are certainly living in a time where humanity is being shaken and where only those who build on the rock will have the enjoyment of knowing their lives have eternal consequence

 Major breakthroughs!

Before Covid we were at about 50 students a semester and about  a hundred students a year – About 10% from DTS, 40% from the prophetic school and 50% from the Transformation prayer ministry. We were praying for a separate property but never got one. But behind the scenes God was doing major things as I was in Switzerland 2 times and 1 time in London with the YWAM Think Tank. In this time I wrote about 5 books that were aimed at practical outcomes. Suddenly when Corona came, these books became very helpful as training tools and we started working on online schools. Then the word of the Holy Spirit came to totally switch to the internet with all our schools and just to do second level schools on the internet.

Now we will have more than 100 students in the middle of the year but we are in the process of developing 3 more online schools! If we have anywhere near the number of students we are currently seeing also on the other 3 schools, we are looking at a strong upward curve in student numbers!  Different countries were presented in our schools this year so far – we had Swiss, Swaziland, England, Columbia, UAE and also Togo, Malawi, Rwanda and Germany.

New schools in development

Biblical worldview school with the focus on philosophies Christians face every day, what these worldviews say and what the bible says on these philosophies. We are partnering with another mission organization in the city that is doing very good work. This school we are aiming to launch this year.

Evangelizing world religions: In this school we look at the core philosophies of all the major religions, how they sound and what the bible says on these philosophies. We are again partnering with the same mission organization that we know for quite a few years. I am helping and overseeing the writing of the study material and learning as well as we go along. This school will probably be ready early next year.School for refugees: This school is particularly developed for refugee workers and refugees to restore their hope and identity and give a Biblical foundation. I am currently writing the material for the global refugee circle and we hope to do this training with refugees anywhere in the world. We are aiming to launch this school end of the year or early next year.

 

New locations in Potch developing for Ywam

When I started Ywam in Potch I felt in my heart we are going to end up with 3 locations in Potch. I thought and worked for 3 house bases but with the Hand of God at work we are now more looking at 3 really decent sized bases with different focuses. As a city we are heading to become a serious missionary sending city. The Holy Spirit spoke in my heart a few years ago to pray that Potch become a headquarters for Africa. Now we have the Fire & Fragrance base close to Potch (near Parys), Ywam Potch focusing on internet schools and we got the use of a property (small farm) from another organization for DTS! Now we are already at 3 locations and growing strong as a city.

There have been birth pains and difficulties of birth but all 3 the locations are doing very well according to their age. Our last location will focus on sending African missionaries and we have Sai-Moon from Myanmar helping to serve at the location. Please pray for them as they have about 4 staff starting a new location in prayer.

Kids at university

In the midst of this we had to trust God to provide for 4 kids at university and then we started the year with a car engine that seized! It was a difficult first four months financially but we seemed to have recovered and all the bills have been paid (also the overdue bills).Our  kids are on their way with studies, Job and Iida who got married recently are also both studying . Job is doing masters, Andrea her honors’, Iida is in her final year and the twins are now first years.  Please pray for faith and strong hearts and minds to believe as they enter into adulthood.

PRAYER TOPICS:

¨  Schools launching in June and July – Prophetic School and the TPM school

¨  The development of the other 3 schools.

¨  Financial breakthrough – we really pray for more sponsors to take our hands and support us as we train and build the kingdom of God in Africa.

¨  Josua in matric and the other kids at university– please pray for our kids

¨  TPM South Africa zoom conference  – this will connect the TPM network in South Africa once again – usually a very powerful equipping and motivating conference!

¨  We will go to Kroonstad for two Saturdays to do the TPM Practical for a church group who did the TPM training – please pray for this session and our travel.
