A time of restoration and preparation - Newsletter Jun 2020

Wikus & Christien
Hi, from Potch and South Africa. Hope that you hear God’s voice daily and live for His Kingdom where you are. We are in the middle of winter with a Corona count of nearly 6000 for yesterday and 130000 cases, the highest in Africa. We all need to deal with a different reality for a while. In the midst of this we need to adjust and align with what God is doing as He is also moving powerfully in this time.
Doing courses in YWAM international
NEW course starting first week of July

Christien is doing  a counseling school connected with Mexico  (Inner Healing and leadership Seminar by YWAM Monterrey )and her Spanish is coming along:- Her heart is with the counseling ministry and she is learning a lot of new things and making new contacts. I am planning to do The Living Word School with Ywam Worcester (online)and our main teacher is the founder of Ywam Brazil Jim Stier. I am looking forward to dig deeper into the Scriptures in this time. This is a great time for equiping ourselves!
Our school leader Vusi, is starting with a three month online Bible school with the Ywam Durban base (Discipleship Bible School). This is an intense Bible core course and will no doubt equip him further. Please pray for him. We are so thankful that he could get sponsors to do the course!!
All three these courses are registered with YWAM’s University of the Nations and will give us credits for futher study.
This is a time of healing from battle scars, financial restoration from all the travelling, getting perspective for the new season and equipping ourselves further for our work. For ministry we need a lot of emotional energy and mental toughness and the time in lockdown was a good time for us to work through various things and prepare for the new season lying ahead for us.

As you know we are currently training a online Prophetic school. Our first group are nearly finished so we will start a second group this week. Everyone is welcome to join ! Register at http://ywampotch.com
Our new season
We started to realise that the season are busy changing for us. Our twins is in matric now and next year Josua is also in matric. In a year and a half our nest is empty! We have been used to such a heavy burden of work, ministry and 5 kids all the time and constant financial pressure that we don’t know what is happening as the pressure is lifted! It almost feel like sin not having a very heavy burden. Yet we feel God saying: “Come to me you who are heavy burdened, for my yoke is soft and light”.
We are trying to see what that means. Our kids are doing really well and we want to see them off safely and we valued the nearly three months all of the kids had to come back to the nest. Our kids also now multiplied to 7 as Job and Andrea are in relationships. So this last three months was really investing in a healthy family. As we minister to others on family we need to first have a healthy family ourselves.
Coaching others
We are investing in indigenous African  bases in this season. We are helping Vusi to plant a base in Ikageng ( our local African township). We are going to be the overseers and help and assisst in every way we can. Then we are also helping and assissting 1 base in Malawi and 2 minstries in Congo that was birthed through our ministry and DTS’s. Operation Refugee Africa also played a major role to grow African leaders from Refugee to missionaries!
Our role has shifted a little bit from walking in front more too coaching others to lead. It is a different reality as the burden are lighter but the effect greater! It is very interesting to follow Jesus and see this multiplication happening.

New ministry in Kolwezi DRC
I first met Kalis when I was speaking in Blantyre Malawi on a DTS. As refugee he was a teacher in the refugee camp and got to know some of our refugees that we sponsored  to do DTS. He then paid for his own DTS and did discipleship school in Blantyre. He is from the Kasai tribe in Central DRC and he lost 5 brothers and sisters because of ethnic cleansing. Another tribe got jealous of their tribe because of mining rights and there was a clash in which his family suffered great loss.
He has now started a ministry in Kolwezi in Central DRC. We have some photos from him and we want to start sponsoring him financially. I am also on whatssapp with him. It is amazing that we can dsiciple now deep into the Congolese bush through whatsapp. Now we can walk him through the processess with Ywam. Because Ywam has such an amazing network of training we can now connect him and the disciples he is making with an international training network. He is one of the fruits of Operation Refugee and the YWAM Blantyre base. Please pray with us for this ministry to stand up.
Please pray for and  support Kalis through the Operation Refugee account.   Account name: Operation Refugee Africa NPC   FNB, cheque  Account nr: 626 264 507 20 Branch code: 240 438 or use PAYPAL and use Reference “Kalis DRC”  see also http://www.operationrefugee.co.za/donate/
