Excited about 2020!

Newsletter Jan 2020

Hi, from Potch. May you be blessed this year as you search and pursue the kingdom of heaven. We pray that the blessings and the governance of peace will reign over your family and household.

Planning for 2020 -  Please pray with us as we move forward in what God has planned  – we are praying to hear from the Lord what He wants us to do and how.

Ywam house and DTS in Ikageng
Last year we had a very full year with two big events and two DTS’s we did with quite a few overseas trips as well. Our second outreach team did their outreach in Ikageng, an African township with about 600 000 people.
We felt to plant a new Ywam house in Ikageng. This year we will do more outreaches there weekly and to plant the house, with staff and one DTS running there this year (Champions DTS April 2020). The need for Christian African leaders are great and we pray and hope to give many young people hope and a future as they can be connected to an international university.

Our DTS will take place in April and we pray for 8+ students that can reach many people in the 5 months. Africa has been devastated by ancestor worship, immorality and broken families. But we have seen that raising up good leaders can change the lives of many people. Pray with us for strong African leaders to stand up that preaches the gospel, disciple others and bring the kingdom of heaven where they go.
  • >   Please pray with us to thank the Lord for His mercy and provision last year and all the breakthroughs on different levels, and pray for 2020 as we really follow Him in HIS WORK in Potch!

Working with a campus student movement
We have been approached by a Christian campus  student movement to help and teach them the prophetic school. There is a lot of interest in the work of the Holy Spirit and the voice of the Holy Spirit. We are starting on the university campus with a prophetic school that is going to be 10 weeks where we are going to disciple people in the prophetic. We hope to have 10-20 students and there is already quite a lot of interest from both the students and the community. (The course is open for everyone)
At the same time we are going to run a TPM school that helps people to heal from the wounds of the past. The TPM has always been a blessed ministry that has touched many peoples lives. We look forward to create a new batch of facilitators that can influence the people in their community.
  • >   Please pray for the people God want to attend these spiritual growth courses.

Refugee project in August
From Ywam Potch we are aiming for a  big outreach event in Malawi where we are going to show the Jesus film to thousands in the refugee camp, pray with people for healing in every area and whre we are going to do the democratic research we presented to the UN. In the end we hope to sponsor some refugees to do DTS and build the number of refugees (that Operation Refugee Africa helped to become missionaries through DTS.) We hope to grow from 19 to many more.
  • >   Please pray with us for this project as it will bring relief to the central Africa suffering because it raises up leaders and bring education. We really need your prayers for the conflict in DRC and central Africa – please also pray and support this event and our Operation Refugee fundraising.

So we plan to do 5 schools this year (2 Prophetic, 2 TPM and a DTS) and then also a big event in Malawi. As usual the work of the Lord will multiply through the year but we want to help Elandri and Jonatan through matric (final school year) this year. Therefore we will not run any DTS’s in our house this year. This is a good development as we can establish a base outside of our house. This is a project we will work for the next two years on.

Sango doing training in Switzerland
Sango (our staff from DRC)  is currently doing a worldview school in Switzerland before he will come back and help us with our project in Ikageng. He has done a leadership training school in Worceter at YWAM and when he comes back he will be in the leadership of the house in Ikageng. This is in line with our vision of helping Africa heal itself. Through training and equipping we are succeeding in raising leaders although we would like to see more continually. The Ywam network is an amazing network to train people. The more we can train, the bigger impact it will make. But we praise God for the precious individuals that are coming through like Sango.
  • >   Please pray for Sango and the other students who are there in Switzerland, many of whom comes from third world countries.
