Impacting the University

Hi from Potch. Praise God for an amazing an important season from the North West University. We are amazed at what God is doing and very thankful for how He is guiding us.

NATIONS TO NATIONS EVENT
For the past few years we focused on discipleship as this is the core of what we have been called for but in this semester we had two bigger events for the community: the one was THE ALL NATIONS FOR ONE KINGDOM concert for the refugees (fundraiser) and the other was the NATIONS TO NATIONS conference focusing on diversity and cultures.
We held the NATIONS TO NATIONS in the Totius hall on the NWU campus. Totius was the theologian that wrote the doctrine of Apartheid for the churches and government of that day.  Now we were holding the celebration of cultures in the Totius hall!

There were two significant factors in the NATIONS TO NATIONS.
1) The restoration of good theology where the kingdom of God is focusing on reconciliation and love.
2) The celebration of different cultures and the calling out of the creation design of the different cultures while we celebrated unity in diversity.

At the dawning of the next season for South Africa, we planted a flag for the truth of the gospel. South Africa has a very bright future where we celebrate all cultures and where we are a nation united by celebrating the diversity of all nations and people groups.

This is a new paradigm and many are approaching it with caution to see what it would look like. But we have peace that we ushered in the new spiritual dawn that would be of great significance of the new season in the history of South Africa.
We were invited by the Vice Chancellor and the Chancellor of the University and we discussed the difficulties faced by the university around race. They requested that we pray with them and stated that “this University cannot move forward if the Almighty do not help us” as well as “we are very proud of our Christian foundations as a university”. We believe that in the dawn of this new day, race can be a positive factor as we learn to celebrate the diversity of all the races God created and we start to see the light of the creation design of all cultures in the light of Christ.

DTS  in full swing
We are finished with our sixth week and the focus of this DTS was very much South Africa and Africa. The theme of the DTS is COMPASSION AND JUSTICE DTS, We faced the hard issues of Africa and South Africa but the students are of very high quality and we are seeing brilliant leaders in the making. We also got a donation for the orphanage in Ikageng and the students were bending their backs as they were doing the hard work of digging out the foundation for the new building.

Ywam international THINK TANK invitation
We had so many important events but my focus is now shifting to the Think Tank and the United Nations. I am doing a proposal for a new democracy in Africa. This is important as it was birthed out of a word the Holy Spirit gave me in Burtigny two years ago. I am just going forward because of the word from the Holy Spirit and it is getting bigger and bigger. We will see where it ends but I am going to do a research proposal for next August in front of Ywam in London and will then participate in the UN event as well. Please pray for me as this is a very important time I believe for the restoration of Africa. I need the clear leading of the Holy Spirit as it is big and dangerous to a degree as Africa has dangerous occult roots. Cost for this visit to London including a UK Visa is approximately  R11000    and the cost for the visit to Geneva (including the VISA for Switzerland) is approximately R4000. Please prayerfully support us in this as we live on sponsors and we do not get a salary from YWAM.

YWAM leadership meeting and TPM South Africa Meeting
Please also pray for our YWAM Southern Africa meeting in two weeks – it will be in Pretoria and we are excited to go there and represent YWAM Potch. All the YWAM base leaders in Southern Africa will be represented.

We had a very blessed TPM SA meeting last weekend and we are thankful for the growth and potential of this movement. We can see the blessing of God as we move into more provinces in the country to give people opportunity to HEAR FROM GOD for their pain and lies. TPM is such a life-style where communities are transformed by Hearing God’s voice on each difficulty

PRAYER POINTS
§  Please pray for our children who are growing up now very quickly – the twins are in the second last year of school and next year they will finish school. Josua is only one year after them!
§  Job and Andrea are both doing very well at University and paying for their own studies – God provided in different ways and we as parents can only be thankful and very proud. Please pray with us for their finances and plans for the future.
§  Pray also for our DTS as they start to prepare for outreach – we do need a lot of funding still for some of our students still need to pay off their lecture phase before they can do outreach. The outreaches are around Southern Africa. We really need your prayers and support as we move forward in discipling these new missionaries in their callings.
§  Please pray for our finances as we are volunteers and do not get salaries from YWAM. We have to do fundraising for all of Wikus’s trips overseas as well as our travels to our meetings.
