Newsletter April 2016

 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners

New things happening
Presently I am extremely excited. I came back from the outreach to Malawi and had such an encounter with God that I struggle to sit as revelation is coming at a very quick pace. Corporate prayer releases Anointing from the Holy Spirit and becomes fuel for missions. With all the people that prayed at Angus Buchan (South African national prayer day) the air is pregnant with glory and expectation. Some pray others execute. We have been Anointed to execute and the Ywam Potch base is growing in professionalism, contacts, revelation etc.
Here is a short testimony about what happened at the refugee camp – Operation Refugee outreach
Vivid visions
I immediately became sickish when we landed in Malawi, there was no electricity mostly, the water was undrinkable and it was tough. I couldn’t sleep well but saw the most vivid visions and it was a very special time with God! He showed me many things he is doing and wants to do in Central Africa.
We had a lady, Michelle, with us on the team that specialised in marketing. I explained to her the details of the vision and the calling of God for the refugees and my need for an administrative and marketing specialist and she immediately said yes as she saw the potential of the people and the great difficulties they faced while they were innocent and desperate.
We found out Steven could talk 11 languages and I marvelled at how handpicked he was as refugee leader. He is amazingly street smart and has endurance. The son of a pastor, brother of the only base leader in Congo and loved and accepted where he goes with a great sense of humour. The atmosphere was filled with joy and I was sneezing, allergic and feeling horrible.
I was about to meet Tresor (a refugee we organised sponsorships for DTS with Operation refugee) for the first time as they were now finished with DTS.
Getting healed
I was feeling horrible, it was difficult living conditions, the mosquitoes were keeping me awake and when I sprayed Doom I got more allergic symptoms. I cried out to God again about 11 o’clock at night. As I was praying a spiritual blanket of peace came over me, my nose opened, ears went open, breast cleared up and I was filled with peace. Instantly and completely healed! It was a new Anointing, very soft and very powerful. I knew this was the Anointing God was going to use to heal this area.
I was starting to get very excited, even about my struggles in the past year with this ministry as I realised we needed all this practical education and we were going to shift into second gear now. Praise God!!

Meeting worship leader
I was going to meet one of the young worship leaders and going to have a prayer counselling session. He gave me permission to share his story. The session with the young man was quite shocking. His mother and father were killed by the Mai Mai when he was 14. He was now 24 and has been in the refugee camp for 10 years. His possibilities of getting out was also not good except if we
did something. God has heard the cry of this young people. I was astounded of the beauty of this young people as there are 450 different tribes in the Congo. One lady was born in the refugee camp and is now 24! As the war has been raging for 22 years the UN won’t allow them to go home, they have no citizenship in Malawi and may not sleep outside the refugee camp and needed papers to go to town.
We are sitting with incredible talent in this camp of 28000. Everything depends on how much we can get for DTS’s to release these guys out of the refugee camp and to get their lives on track. We have a solid workable plan after DTS as well and we know this can and will work. All we need is the community to support this calling.
New courses
We are praying for a new TPM counseling course in Potch and Klerksdorp in the semester and the whole May and beginning of June is booked for camps. For the next 6 weeks we have 3 camps! We are getting very busy in the evenings and weekends and we need the wisdom of God with our 5 kids.
12 & 13 May - We kick off Wikus’s Holy Spirit course with a HOLY SPIRIT CAMP in Ventersdorp. He plan to start a Prophetic school from August in Potch. More info will be on the website soon.
  •  See our website for more info: Http://ywampotch.com
  • The other weekends we have the TPM practical qualification weekends.

DTS graduated!
We are very thankful for the first 3 students that are graduating, the other 3 are on another schedule and doing outreach at the University of Technology while the other student was hospitalised early in the outreach and will finish the outreach when her health permits. But a group of 5 (3 students, 2 staff) did an amazing job as they travelled and ministered from Ottosdal, Gaborone, Zambia and Malawi refugee camp. They ministered to hundreds even thousands as they travelled. At the refugee camp we ministered at 4 churches simultaneously as a team that divided in 4 groups. God is working and the short term outreaches are serving the longer term calling of the base. And what a privilege to serve the calling God is giving!

Thank you for praying and supporting us!
We really pray for more support and prayers as we step into a new season – we have great open doors for the Counselling course and we also see the DTS quality and impact in Africa is very good. There is a lot of admin and practical things to do for Operation Refugee! Please support us financially monthly in order that we can both focus on ministry – at the moment Christien had to do some work at the university to help with the financial needs!
 Blessings Wikus, Christien and kids!
