News - March 2015 Islands outreach
Dear Friends
We are thankful to
God for raising the support for Wikus to do a pastoral visit to our DTS outreach
team in Mauritius. Andrea (16) also raised her own funds to join dad and the
team. She was very involved in the DTS during lecture phase and she is very
excited to go and do outreach on the island!
Please pray for Wikus
as he has to do outreach debriefing and also connecting with local church
leaders who are involved in YWAM or Missions. We are thankful for contacts in
this country. Our team are doing great, doing street evangelism and ministry.
YWAM Student house
The YWAM house is
running with 17 students and we can see that it’s really a place of safety for
the university students. Please pray with us for a staff to stay on the base
with the students. Currently Lily is doing a great job with organising work
duties and doing fun things with the students. We each spend time in the house
, just to be there for the students.
Please also pray for
our University students, their personal situations, finances and for growth.
While Wikus is away I
need to do the maintenance too – so hope I can fix it!
We plan to invite
YWAM friends to do a Bible week in the house –this usually is a great way to
pull the students closer to a walk with Jesus!
Counselling course
We will run a new 16
weeks counselling course after this holidays – excited about it. It will be one
evening a week. I am also happy to have Lily to help do the training. It really
works wonderful to do the training with a person who wants to be equipped to do
this training in the future. We pray about doing another course in the July
holidays for 3 weeks.
Planning for the year
We are currently
having a lot of meetings and prayers to plan the rest of the year as well as
the directions of YWAM Potch with our team. Its a good time to revisit, revise
and structure and organize. We are thankful for our team who are very willing
to help plan.
Please pray for us as
we have a few new staff thinking of applying – we need wisdom with this process
of building the next step of YWAM Potch. And we need a lot of capable and
willing people!
Family
We are so happy with
our big family – everyone is growing as a person, getting more courage to take
on challenges. Our kids have a lot of wisdom and we really praise God for His
covering love in them!

kids as our first responsibility and ministry!
I also need prayer to
keep the house in order with 5 kids! : )
Support
Thank you for
supporting us and praying for us. We need the support of our family and friends
as we are doing a different thing in Potch. We are challenging traditional
boundaries of race and traditional beliefs. We are also really training young
people to become missionaries or to live out their faith in the marketplace in
a powerful way! We also make a lot of difference with our counselling course –
training people who are new of even trained persons to do their counselling
with the help of the Holy Spirit and with prayer.
We also need some
extra funds to cover this month’s costs as a family, so anyone who feels lead
to give a extra amount for us as a family , we will appreciate it.
R300 project !!
Just a reminder:
Persons who still want to donate R300 ($30)per month, do not think a small
amount will not help, we saw that the R300 project really helped us with daily
needs. We still need some more R300’s monthly though!
